Mares INSTINCT 15X

The Instinct 15X includes a second stage boasting many important features! 

Ideal for the frequent traveler, the Mares Instinct Regulator has a lightweight, compact second stage the doesn't sacrifice performance. The 15X first stage features a balanced diaphragm and an environmentally sealed design. The regulator comes with a long, 29.5in/75cm Superflex hose for comfortable breathing. A Long-Lasting First Stage: The 15X The first stage is made from durable, chrome-plated, marine brass to resist corrosion. Breath easier under extreme conditions with the Dynamic Flow Control (DFC) System. It prevents pressure drops to provide a stable flow of air during inhalation. The diaphragm uses a dry design to protect the inner workings from corrosion, debris, and other contaminants. A flexible, sealed membrane transmits pressure changes directly to the valve without the need for water to enter the First Stage. The dry design helps keep the 15X at peak performance dive after dive.

The 15X is 600% more durable than past First Stages by Mares. That's partly thanks to Mares' A.C.T. Advanced Coating Technology. A dual coating of hard polyurethane (PU) and a soft polyurethane (PU) protects the valve from the harsh marine environment. A Feature-Rich Second Stage: The Instinct The technopolymer Second Stage has side exhaust ports to direct exhaled breath away from your field of view. It features Mares' Vortex Assist Design (V.A.D.) System. This system creates a low pressure vortex at the mouthpiece. The vortex keeps the diaphragm down during inhalation for easy, responsive breathing at depth. Openings in the rear of the device compensate for strong current to minimize freeflow. The large purge button is easy to press in bulky gloves. The second stage is designed to be compact, comfortable, and light.
